Maximum Length of Stay (Max LOS)
The maximum length of stay (Max LOS) is a limitation policy that limits the accessibility of rooms by indicating a maximum number of nights a visitor can reserve for stays. This strategy is wanted even when hotels can make more income by allowing an extensive stay.
The Max LOS strategy is often set off when hotel managers expect more room sales at elevated rates. Also during periods of high demand and specially when discounts are provided to guests, the Max LOS is used.
Often times there are government rules that regulate the highest consecutive length one can stay in a hotel. This has to deal with a definite taxation rule that regulate long term land leases vs hotels.
