Walk-in

What is the definition of Walk-in in the hotel industry?

Sometimes, even though a hotel agrees a reservation from an specific, couple, family or group, it cannot actually lodge them when they attain on the decided date! This is typically due to the hotel having full capability at that time, confusion over a booking, or through the hotel using its Sell Through option. But, the good news for forthcoming guests, is that all may not be lost; at least, not quite yet!

Where no lodging can be made offered at a hotel, dissatisfied guests can sometimes be Walked to another hotel within close immediacy. The two hotels may belong to the same national or international restraint, making things easier from an administrative position; or the spare ‘substitute’ hotel may not be allied to the major hotel at all: the two businesses are humbly on good terms and try to help each other out whenever conceivable.
